Design : This commemorative postage stamp issued to mark the World Environment Day depicts the Himalayan range as the source of water resources and identity of Nepal; ‘ankh‘, the Egyptian sign for life, which symbolises betterment of people’s lives; Sun for the source of energy; depletion of the vegetation causing land degradation; and forest for the protection, improvement of environment and utilisation of natural resources.
