  • The International Congress of Entomology has been held quadrennially with the participation of world entomologists since the first congress at Brussels, Belgium.
  • The 16th International Congress of Entomology was held in Kyoto from 3rd through 9th August, 1980, as the first congress to be held in Japan. Approximately 3,000 participants from about 80 countries are expected to get together and various events such as special lectures, symposiums and other lectures are scheduled.
