Issued for : A special postage stamp was issued to mark the Year of World Red Cross Blood Donation. That year, the League of Red Cross Societies had the theme “Give Blood……Save Life” as an appeal to all the countries to promote the blood donation. In Japan, the “Brotherly Love Blood Campaign” has been an annual affair since 1962.
Design : A bottle for collecting blood, the globe and pigeons with Roman letters showing the proportion of Japanese blood types.
