- The festival of Samyak Pooja, the greatest symbol of Buddhist culture to be observed at Kathmandu on the first day of Magh – the 10th month of the Nepalese calendar holds a prominent place in our cultural heritage from the hoary past. On the occasion of this great festival, which is celebrated pompously every twelfth year since the reign of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the great, special worship and food are offered to the invited Buddhist deities and reigning sovereign.
