About :
- The meeting of the International Congress of Nurse (ICN) is held once every four years. The 16th meeting was held in Japan in 1977.
- The meeting, the first convention ever to be held in Asia, was continued for five days from May 30 to June 3 at the Nippon Budokan hall and other places in Tokyo.
- About 12,000 nurses including observers from more than 100 countries of the world – 87 of them affiliated with the ICN participated in the Tokyo meeting. Under the theme “Seeking after the infinite possibility of nursing”, the participants discussed the recent trends of nursing business and education and grope the greater role of nurses in the overall planning and implementation of the comprehensive health and medical care.
