About :
- One of the great sons of Nepal, Bir Balbhadra is remembered above all as the hero of the historic battle of Kalanga during the Anglo-Nepalese war which broke out on 1st November 1814. The heroic chivalry, unbounded courage, and invincible spirit of patriotism which he displayed have been described as extremely rare in the annals of mankind. Even the enemies who fought against him showed their respect by erecting a stone pillar in tribute to his bravery.
