Issued for : On the occasion of Children’s Day this year, the Indian Posts & Telegraphs Department is happy to bring out a commemorative postage stamp depicting a painting by a child.
Design : The stamp has for its motif a painting titled “TWO FRIENDS” by 10-year old Master Dinesh of Dehradun. The First Day Cover depicts a painting titled “Procession” done by 12-year old Kumari Sudha Reddy of Hyderabad. These painting are reproduced by the courtesy of Shankar‘s International Children’s Competition (1977).
