Issued for : To mark the Philately Week beginning from April 20, 1977, two 50 yen postage stamps (se-tenant) were issued depicting a portion of “Weaving Scene”.

About :
- The picture used for the se-tenant stamps shows women engaged in weaving at a garden where such autumnal flowers as chrysanthemum and eulalia are in full bloom. Women reeling yarns and making preparations for dyeing are also depicted. Wearing graceful clothes, the women look expressive and attractive.
- The picture is believed to have been drawn some time during the period of Kan-ei (1624-1643), but it is not known who painted the picture.
- Women playing games are a popular subject of the genre paintings in this period, but it is rare that working women are drawn in such pictures. The women shown in this picture look enjoying working.
- The original of this picture is preserved at the Atami Art Museum in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
