About :
- The eighteen-handed Goddess situated on the beautiful summit of Palanchowk has come to be accepted as one of the matchless specimens of traditional Nepalese sculpture. Among the leading features that have made it justly famous are the charming facial expression, the shapely outline and the arresting decorations. This image, popularly known as the Palanchowk Bhagavati, was consecrated as Vijayashri (the Goddess of Victory) by Vijayaswamini, the royal consort of Lichhavi King Mana Dev, in 503 A.D. Today on the auspicious occasion of the Dasain festival we offer our humble tribute to Goddess Durga.
