- Without using oxygen, high altitude rations and sophisticated equipments a fourteen-men Nepalese police team under the aegis of the Nepal Police Mountaineering and Adventure Foundation made a successful assault on Tukuche Himal on 16th Aswin 2033 corresponding to 2nd October 1976, resulting in nine of its members getting at the top (6,920 metres). A commemorative stamp issued to mark the first anniversary of this successful ascent depicts very fittingly Tukuche Himal lying in the Dhaulagiri range and an expedition scene attempting to scale the summit with the police flag fluttering.
