About : 

  • The eminent poet of Nepali literature Siddhi Charan Shrestha was born in the district of Okhaklhunga on May 22nd, 1912. He dedicated his entire life to epic writing and is well known as the poet of Age (Yuga Kavi) in the realm of Nepalese literature.
  • Siddhi Charan, an exponent of spontaneous expressionism in the epic stream of Nepali literature, a poet heralding rebellion from his poetry, a propounder of inner glimpse of woman and an expounder of natural geography for the first time in poetry, is regarded as a champion on both Nepali and Newari poetry. Free expressionism, reflectionism, symbolism, shadowism, idealism, mysticism, progressionism, realism and etc. find full expression in his works. About 3 dozens of his works in Nepali and Newari have been published.
  • Siddhi Charan Shrestha, the lifelong member of Royal Nepal Academy was awarded with Tribhuvan Puraskar in 1970 and Prithvi Pragyan Puraskar in 1988. He was also decorated with Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu and Bikhyat Trishakti Patta by His Majesty the King.
