- The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is the central organisation of chambers of commerce and industrial and trade associations in India. Founded in 1927, FICCI has on its membership nearly 450 chambers of commerce and trade and industrial associations, and over 1800 industrial and commercial enterprises – large, medium and small. Together with its constituents, FICCI represents about one lakh business units employing over five million persons.
- Committed to national objectives of accelerating economic growth, promoting employment, ensuring the well-being of the weaker sections of society and achieving self-reliance, FICCI functions as a bridge between Government and business. It is formally represented on 90 Government advisory boards and committees.
- FICCI has also taken keen interest in the country’s socio-economic programmes.
