About : 

  • This sports meet was held for six days from March 1 this year at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo under the sponsorship of the International Skating Union and arranged by the National Skating Union of Japan.
  • This was a memorable meet to be held for the first time not only in Japan but also in Asia.
  • About 150 skators from some 20 countries were scheduled to take part in the meet to compete the beauty of graceful gliding on ice and the beauty of lively motions in the three events of single skating, pair skating and ice dancing.
