About : 

  • The National Athletic Meet has been held in every prefecture since 1946. It has worked towards its objective of improving the health and physical strength of the population as well as raising the levels of amateur sports and the sporting spirit while promoting the wide diffusion of sports.
  • The 38th National Athletic Autumn Meet will be held from the 15th of October to the 20th of October in Maebashi City and other 23 cities, towns and villages in Gunma Prefecture.
  • This Meet is named the ‘Akagi Meet‘, and it has the slogan, ‘Run into the Wind‘. About 28,000 athletes and managers from all over the country are expected to participate in 31 events including field, soccer and tennis, etc. Spirited competition can be foreseen.
