Issued for : A postage stamp was issued in commemoration of the XXIVth International Geographical Congress, which was held Sept. 1 to 5 and the Xth International Cartographic Conference meeting between Aug. 25 and Sept. 1. Both of these assemblies, which are deeply concerned with human life on Earth, convened in Tokyo. About 3,000 participants from over 80 nations were scheduled to attend.
Design : The postage stamp has been designed with a map of the world and three-dimensional graphic representation which symbolizes geography, producing the three-dimensional effect in refreshing coloring.
